occasional tables
The term "occasional table" is used to describe any table that isn't a dining room table or a desk. Tables that lack one specific purpose and could be gone to live in just about any room in the house fall into this category. Most occasional tables easily fit in living rooms, family rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and libraries. Among their most important functions is to give a surface for temporary objects, like a cocktail, reading glasses, a magazine or the daily newspaper. Does this Spark an idea?
A coffee table
"Coffee" and "cocktail" are two terms used in reference to exactly the same type of table. Coffee tables are low in most cases put into front of the couch to keep a beverage, the handheld remote control and reading material. Out of the box the case with all occasional tables, they are made of various materials, including glass, steel, wood and rattan. They are often used for display of objects for example coffee table books, once the tables aren't being utilized. A coffee table are put to use in living and family rooms, on furnished porches and in every other sitting area.
Console Tables
Console tables and sofa tables is one within the same. They're long, rectangular tables that stand just higher than waist height around the average adult. Consoles should not in favor of a wall. They take on the name "sofa table" when placed behind a floating sofa, or perhaps a sofa that does not have its back to the wall. The initial console tables were elaborately carved and gilded in precious metals. Consoles are generally placed in foyers, hallways, dining rooms and living spaces as an extra surface for lamps, decorative accents, mail, purses and keys.
End Tables
End tables, because the name implies, are created to sit either end of the bed, couch or other type of seating. Manufacturers often sell occasional table sets, including one coffee table for in front of the couch and two end tables for either side. The end table is really a taller, smaller-surfaced version of the coffee table in that it acts as a catch-all. They are usually employed for things like table lamps, telephones, coasters and framed photographs. End tables are occasionally used in the bedroom in place of nightstands. The difference between your two is that a nightstand has drawer and shelf storage, and most end tables do not.
Nesting Tables
Nesting tables, also called nest-of-tables or nested tables, really are a number of three or even more occasional tables that are graduated in dimensions to suit beneath each other. They are similar in style to finish tables, and in some cases, the biggest from the set is equal in proportion for an end table. Smaller nesting tables prove useful when an extra surface is temporarily needed. Condos and apartments and people with small spaces often use the largest nesting table as an end table, storing small ones underneath until they are needed. Certain types of nesting tables---set side-by-side---easily become an impromptu coffee table.
